heels1785, IIRC you were a big fan of DeBruyne when Chelsea still had the rights to him. Well, he helped Wolfsburg take Bayern apart Friday. He's been brilliant for them all season, one of the top 3-5 players in the league so far.

DeBruyne should've never left Chelsea; we didn't give the kid a proper chance.

I admit, I didn't see him play a ton - but from what I read and did see, I really thought the ceiling was high enough to keep him.

yankee, have you had a chance to see the younger Hazard we loaned to Mongladbach? I don't think he's played a ton.

Thorgen Hazard got a good amount of playing time before the winter break and was playing well. This is his profile from Kicker:
    http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...gladbach-15/74645/spieler_hazard-thorgan.html

If you go down to the "Spieler Statistik" you can see his stats for individual games. "Note" means grade, and is based on the german school system where 1 is best and 6 is worst. "Eing" means what minute he was subbed in, "Ausg2 when he was subbed out. He's only started 4 matches, was subbed in for 11 others. 1 goal scored, 4 assists. Overall he's been used in a limited role, mainly off the bench, has played well but not spectacularly. But well enough that Gladbach are pushing to try to buy him outright from Chelsea.

EDIT: Oddly, he didn't play at all Saturday vs Stuttgart, despite the player ahead of him in the depth chart (Andreas Hahn) being injured. American Fabian Johnson got the start and played all 90 minutes.

Really, now. Lots of politics in that decision, I'd imagine, with keeping his older brother happy. Thanks for the link.

Couldn't get here back when we beat City to post this but, as it is rather amusing, I shall post it now in case you didn't see it doing the rounds on the footy message boards that day:

RESPECT LE COQ! TAME THE KUN!

It amused this film buff anyway.

Certainly love the work that Coquelin is doing for us, though, and very happy with the run we have been able to put together as a result.

    -JR :)

Lennon to Everton isn't a bad deal, albeit another loan.

In a bit of a surprising move, the USSF is backing Prince Ali over Sepp Blatter for FIFA President.

I'm anticipating an announcement later that countries that declared their independence in 1776 and are comprised of 50 states will no longer be allowed to host World Cup Qualifying matches, per FIFA and Sepp.

How can they not vote for Luis Figo? Imagine that hair in charge of world football. Talk about The Beautiful Game.

Beautiful as he/his hair may be, his name does not automatically cause you to start singing Disney songs.

    Advantage: Prince Ali.

Poor 'arry wasn't allowed to spend 50 million on a 35 year-old journey man.
