So how will Liverpool go this season? Watford match seemed like more of the same old same old to me. The good, the bad and the awful against set piece.

I spent more time than I should have looking through, analyzing, and making fun of my own domestic league.

I don't think United or LIverpool could have asked for better draws, and Spurs for a worse draw.

I was holding out hope Bayern would end up in the Group of Death, finish third, and then knock out Arsenal in the (Europa) Round of 16. Alas.

 

Great draw for the English teams, well except for Spurs of course.

 

Liverpool with one of the easier groups, imo. Man United as well.

 

Couldn't have asked for an easier draw, really. Nor could Manchester Untied. Spurs and Celtic are proper ****ed.

 

Pickford's a goalkeeper. Sigurdsson's a player.

Dembele to Barça apparently a done deal, Dortmund getting 150 MEUR. That could buy the entire starting lineup of many BuLi clubs.

Bittersweet. Trust Dortmund to invest that money properly. But, too late in the window to get anyone to make an impact this season. Not that they were going to overtake Bayern. But this makes that Champions League Draw even tougher. Hopes were likely top-three finish and advancing from Group Stage.

Still. They paid 15 million for him one year ago. Hell of an investment turnaround.

 

Will he make Barca strong enough to compete with Real Madrid?

 

No, I think Barca is just about done for now. Their recruitment policy is shabby to say the least.

 

perfect draws for united and liverpool in the champions league man city got an easy draw as well. chelsea should get out but the pressure is on spurs i think with dembele leaving dortmund they should be good enough to make it out

 

The problem isn't Suarez, or anywhere in the front three. It's the mediocre 7 behind them.

And remember how 5 years ago football pundits everywhere wrote about Barca's academy as if it was an assembly line for guaranteed world class talent?

 

Just remember, La Liga is rarely decided by who wins El Classico, but rather by who between Barca and Real drop less points against the other 17 teams. Barca can certainly win La Liga, even if Real win all six points H2H.
