A hogmany treat for me and my sister in the eighties. (diluted with plenty of cordial and soda, of course)

Other party drinks I would have been guzzling almost forty years ago as they would have looked then.

There's a "mom & pop" toy store in San Francisco that posted these photos on their Facebook page:

This coincided with Netflix's series "The Toys That Made Us" which featured Kenner and the launch of the Star Wars toys.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, this was the first (and pretty much only) video game console my family had back in the day.

I like to think of it as our first gaming console.

This is pretty close to the first camera I ever owned. If I remember correctly, a friend of mine gave it to me when he got a more advanced one.

I can always say I have a memory of when I was 2 years old, because November of 88 LBT was released. I remember seeing it in the theatre, and I think it must have been the first movie I saw In a theatre.

I remember those puppets. They were either Macdonalds or Burger King toys. Think I still have them somewhere in the attic.

Just to show that Scotland has been trying to improve its relationship with alcohol for longer than you might think.

In 1980, this PIF highlighted the main threat from over imbibing... Women that become a handful for their male accompanist while trying to keep up with the rate of bevy consumption on a night out. It means her man has to take the woman home and curtail his own drinking. And you know she'll be in no fit state to put the chip pan on to make her man's supper when they get up the road. He'll be sat up sober watching Come Dancing or That's Life while she's out the game. Tsssk. Women, eh?

(Note: The women ruining her man's night is played by Gregory's Girl star Dee Hepburn.)

This reminds me of a whole bunch of alternate history and parallel universe sci-fi stories.

Two more things that have fallen by the wayside: Miller's Outpost and designer jeans. 6th/7th grade me would have endured the humiliation of wearing a pair of Toughskins before putting on a pair of Sasson jeans. OOH-La-la.
