    I've known a few hippies who have enjoyed pooping from boats or canoes. I never got the appeal.

    i pinched off a three and a half incher around three hours ago. was light brown with a few dark spots here and there. i don't know what that means.

    no strength training, no conditioning. i should probably get into this snatch thing, though. i'm sure it would make me feel a lot better going through my daily routine.

    Lots of farting today. I've upped my carb intake. Afternoon dump, nothing to write home about.

    Strength
    Spiderman crawls
    Turkish get up pyramid (24,32,36,32,24)
    Military press 3 x 5
    Pull-ups (weighted) 1,2,3 x3
    Deadlift 8 singles at 80% 1RM
    Front squats 3 x 5 at 80% 1RM
    SF plank 3 x 10 breath count

    No conditioning. I'll leave kidney failure to the crossfitters.

    I had the most depressing thing thing happen today, and I'm sure you can all relate. Y'know that feeling of impending intestinal discharge? Peristalsis? I had that something fierce, so I made my way to the head and as soon as my cheeks met the seat the peristaltic feeling subsided...slightly...and I squeezed out three little string-like turds. They didn't even leave much of a stench either. One wipe, one flush (omg there's a Bob Marley joke in there somewhere) and it was over.

    Less than satisfied.

    Crawling is an awesome 'reset' for the body, stimulates the vestibular system and is great for reflexive stability.

    In the spiderman crawl the legs go out wide, left leg moves with right arm, right leg with left arm.

    I'll be going to the Temple to monkey around and pick up heavy **** later, I'll see if I can get someone to film me doing some crawling.

    Mort I know that disappointment and I feel your pain, buddy.

    Spidey crawls vid below... I love how even in the monkey Temple where I train I get weird looks for the stuff that I do (guy in orange in the background... he's new there, bless him)



    I like the idea of this also being a strength & conditioning thread. The jolly game of taming iron is a pursuit of gentlemen and of ladies. Persons of distinction who visit the boards are sure to be drawn to this thread, so it all fits beautifully.

    Felt like hammered **** today, but it was deathly quiet at the gym so I got some footage of some of my lifts and wotnot so might upload them to youtube and post them here.

    and that crawl is aptly named. i have to wonder if there are folks that put on the full suit and everything.

    and i think the guy in orange is actually turned on by what you're doing. just my read on it.

    Okie dokie. I was pretty badly fatigued today, so these are not good examples of technique (especially the Turkish get up... total lack of focus there, damn glute didn't fire) but sometimes it's good to see how things break down when you're tired. Same 5 lifts as always, followed by snatches for conditioning.

    Turkish get up (bad technique! mad glute-fail-flying-leg-nonsense). I seem to remember Souderwan asking what these were.
    Today did a 24, 32, 40, 32, 24 pyramid.



    Press
    Simple 3*5 today, this is set 2



    Pull-ups with a weight vest - 3 * 1,2,3



    Deadlift - struggling to stay tight with the fatigue, so stuck at a moderate weight for 8 singles



    Front squat - simple 3 * 5, this is the last set



    I did snatches for 8 minutes - uploading now, I'll post when it's done.

    Fell asleep waiting for it to upload.

    Poop has been disappointing for the last couple of days. Pooped a few times yesterday, but each a disappointing little effort. Farted a lot... maybe I'm eating something I don't have a tolerance for.

    Anyhoo, yesterday's conditioning was 8/8 snatch for 8 mins. Filmed the whole thing because everyone should be encouraged to film their snatch and put it on youtube. Apologies for the music in the background. It was the Muay Thai coach's choice. I'd have turned it off/changed it but, well, he's a Muai Thai coach!

    I think this should become the thread for all noble pursuits. Pooping, the iron game, building stuff, driving... the gentleman's club of the JCC

    Pete you've successfully encouraged me to begin an exercise routine. Seems like a great way to stay regular as well as fit.

    I need to look good shirtless in the canoe this summer...so I can poop over the side of it with more aesthete.

    Awesome, Mort! A gentleman should lift as well as glory in his poop. Make sure you have good mobility an ok technique before lifting heavy.

    If you have any dead weight to lose (as I do right now... year-end stress at work plus an imminent house move have given me a cortisol belly) high intensity interval training plus a drop in carb consumption does the trick. Choose self limiting exercises that wont injure you. I posted a 6 week fat loss regimen in the "fitness" thread.

    For strength, lift 65-85% of your 1RM for 1-5 reps. For strength endurance, kettlebells are the safest option. High rep work with a barbell is a recipe for disaster.
