I don't know about all of you, but I want to see Rough Day, and I don't have HBO. Come on, Ryan, show us Rough Day!

 

I think that'd take alot of bandwidth.

 

LOL. Well, a PM probably would have done, but I have gotten a few similar comments over the months. I was waiting to have this available with my big website update, but that's taking forever, so for anybody who cares and has a fast connection, Rough Day In it's 61 MB, QuickTime, uncensored entirety. Definitely it would have been done much differently (better) if I had done it now, but it has it's moments.

Anyway, I'm not sure how HBO feels about it being displayed anywhere except it's own airwaves, so keep it on the DL, huh?

Edit: Actually, spoo, that reminds me. This is hosted on my own server computer here (so bandwidth is not a problem) and I'm really still unsure of how well it handles major usage, so if you decide to download Rough Day, check your speed and let me know how fast your transfer is via PM or email. Thanks.

im currently downloading this roughday, and just out of curiosity.... what is it?

 

I have a cable modem and it was downloading at an average of 8 kbytes/sec

 

i started at about 50k then went down to 8 then 4 for the last half.

About the vid:
Very nice job, the baskeball effect was cool, how many takes did it take you to fall backwards with enough force?

 

it is going like 7kb/sec and i am on a cable modem.

 

ryan this was great! a big laugh at the whole movie, perfect dialouge and great special effects! very nice!

get right is saying the file is 93mb ,but in your post you said 61mb ,which one is right?getting there slowly

I thought that "Rough Day" was pretty good... I am so jealous of the wire effects, though.

I also love how Nolan keeps losing in his own fantasies. That is a bad day.

The school you shot at was really nice... I have to say, I didn't know any schools that looked like that, I guess it's a California thing.. only in the movies.

I guess my only complaint would be that the characters keep looking down.. natural, but doesn't look right.

Just watched Rough Day - nice work man!

I wish I had that much filming experience. Well, I'm working on a 3 minute film for my Production Class - I'll be using it to apply to the film major. So, hopefully it'll be something worth showing off.

So Ryan, can I ask: how did you get so good so quick? You're definitely off to the fastest start I've seen.

 

Ryan, are you on a cable modem connection?

If you are, then its no wonder people are getting 7 and 8 kb/s.

 

I'm on DSL here and I had to reset my server a couple times lately as I was trying to set up some network stuff to get my precious choreography files off my dying comp onto my new one. Sorry if it seriously screwed any of your guys' downloads.

That was freakin awesome! How many years ago was this when you made it? If AOTClowns comes out half as good as that i will be exstatic(sp?). Two things though:
1. When the bad dude is swingin his saber around, you can see a little bit of flashing red glow at the top of the screen, just a small oopsie.

Obviously, AE produces the best sabers, but i'd rather not have to buy it cause i already have photoshop 3.0 (don't laugh). I noticed that in you end creds your used photoshop, mind telling me what tutorial you used? I've been using Darel Finley's , but they don't come out quite as good as yours.

Maybe his own tutorial. Click on his signature for "Ryan and Steve's Lightsaber Tutorials" or whatever and there's a photoshop tutorial and an after effects tutoial, and they are both video tutorials.
