Jag chuckled -- as he usually did whenever Jaina disagreed with Zekk -- then said, "To a degree. Does that mean you sense something?"

"Give me a chance," Jaina replied. "We just got here."

"We need time to attune ourselves to the local currents," Zekk explained. "It's not like that new ship of hers is a dark side beacon. It was just giving off a little aura before."

"So you're saying we need to make a second pass?" Jag asked.

"And probably a third and a seventh," Jaina answered. "It might take some effort to find her, but I'd bet my shirt that Alema is here."

Jag said, "I accept!" at the same time Zekk said "Okay!"

Jaina frowned, confused by their enthusiasm. "What?"

"Your bet." Zekk leered across the fuselage. "I accepted."

"Hey, I was first!" As usual, it was impossible to tell from Jag's tone whether he was joking, but Jaina thought he probably was. The only gambling she had ever seen him do involved starfighters and slim chances of survival. "The bet is with me."

"Ha, ha -- very funny," Jaina said. "What part of not interested don't you two understand?"

"About us?" Tenal Ka was surprised by the question, for the answer was as obvious as it was painful. "You must know the answer to that already."

The color drained from Jacen's face. "What about hiding? I could ask the Fallanassi to take you in."

Tenel Ka smiled sadly. "That will work for a time, Jacen -- perhaps even until the Confederation grows tired of looking for us. But they can't rule Hapes without Hapan blood on the throne, and whoever they install as their puppet won't tire. The pretender will be too frightened of me or Allana trying to return, and she'll keep looking until we're dead."

Do we finally get our Jag/Jaina/Zek three way that they've been building to?

 

The decisive battle at Coruscant between the Confederation and the GA will be the Confederations undoing, Darth Caedus's Sith Master Meditation/Battle Meditation will unite his forces together and they will destroy the confederation easily, like in KOTOR1 when Bastila Shan uses her battle meditation to cordinate the Sith fleet and its forces and destroy the Republic fleet on the dark side ending, Caedus will wipe them out....all of them.

 

I can't wait to read about whether Luke chooses the Jacen's side or Han and Leia's.

Maybe the authors should try for something funny, like them trying to do an important mission, but all ending up somewhere unusual, like in the middle of a landfill and are all handcuffed to each other.

Still, this book sounds a lot better than Tempest was, so I shall reserve judgement until I've read it.

 

I feel sure Luke will choose Han and Leia's side. Beacuse if he doesn't, not only will he have lost his wife, but he'll lose his siter and best friend. At least I think that's what'll happen.

Guys, the kid is 13.. THIRTEEN YEARS OLD. Get a Grip. Did you find the person that you would spend the rest of YOUR life with at 13? No. Did you even know what to LOOK for in a perspective mate at 13? Again No. This ship madness must stop and stop now. J/J/Z was kinda funny watching the wars between the shippers, but this Ben/Allana/Scout/etc. stuff is just plain creepy.

I'm hoping we see the beginnings of the more independently minded Jedi order hinted at in Legacy.

I don't think I could bear seeing Luke standing shoulder to shoulder with Jacen for a moment longer. He made clear in The Swarm War the tiptoeing around the dark side attitude is wrong. I want to see him stick by his guns and lay the law down to Jacen. Sith or no Sith, he has realise Jacen's gone dark by now... especially if he's contemplating some Alpha Red related atrocity. He'd be backtracking to go along with Jacen now.

I'm torn on whether I want to see Luke outright join up with the Confederacy but I'd like to see him tell "Chief of State" Jacen Solo that the Jedi aren't going to do the GFFA's dirty work. I'd rather see him join up with Han and Leia and start thinking with his own head and trying to end the war, not insist on taking sides. I feel the series can redeem it's "prequel rehash" label if this time the Jedi don't allow themselves to be treated like Supreme Chancellor/Chief of State's personal lapdogs but draw a line where they know what they're doing is wrong. It would show Luke has learned the lessons of the past. Mace and Yoda may not have realised what Palpatine was until it was too late. I want to see Luke realising before then.

I also want to see Jacen do something bad. Super villain-class bad. Right now all he's done is kill a few random Jedi Masters. I want to see some chaos. It's the Legacy era. Darth Caedus needs a legacy too beyond being a chump who just killed his aunt. Show me some Evil with a capital E.

 

minor correction: he turned 14 in Exile, while on Ziost.

but other than that, i do agree... give him some time. even J/TK and J/Z didn't really start till they were ~15/16 years old (and even those consisted of awkard moments, a few hugs, and i think 1 kiss each over the course of the 14 book YJK series), and neither of those has turned out all that great so far.

if we get a series set ~10 years after LOTF, with a 22-25 year old Ben, then by all means we can have "Ben and Jys vs Ben and Seha" threads. but for now, let's concentrate on the important things, like... say... THE SITH THAT KILLED HIM MOM!!!

 

As it stands, I'd rather see Luke side with Jacen against Han and Leia.

It would be a great twist, and good for story/character development. I mean sure, he'll find out Jacen is Caedus and turn against him eventually, but it would be nice to see the Big 3 have a little bit of conflict. We haven't seen them at each other's throats since Dark Empire.

For all those who have said Jacen has done nothing and is a sith lite, I think we are about to see him cut loose.

There is no way Luke isn't going to join Leia and Han once Jacen uses his Alpha red theres no way Luke or the Jedi order will stand for that and on the wookie home world the sith is going to hit the fan, it bet its the wookies who get used as a test site

 

I do hope that Tarfang dies...
