I think you should at least try the first season. In the first season his vigilantism is for a very different reason than any other superhero.
It's also entertaining to watch him hide his secret from everyone, and unlike Batman he's just so amoral and unprofessional (that's right, he kills).
Season 2 is also pretty great.

I only recently discovered that Palpatine was trained by Darth Plagueis....I thought he was a Sith legend from way way way back when. I'm not sure why I didn't pick that up from the movies o_O lol!

I figured that out when I watched the movie for the first time. It's okay though.

Actually, it was more of a guess. After some research, I found the truth.

Oh okay. I once guessed it then I thought "No way. Plagueis was waaaaay before Palpatine." LOl!

I don't remember where I found out the truth, but it was very very recently.

Back from work, and it's been raining all day. Better that than snow, as far as I am concerned.

Rain is better than snow only when you can stay inside in a constant state of dryness and warmth. Which was not today. Stupid job.

Banking. I'll bore you to death with any further explanation. But it still requires me to leave my home in bad weather, which makes it stupid. :p

Just look at the way Palpatine says that Plagueis's apprentice killed him in his sleep. His expression is devious and proud.

But, then, is anything he does in ROTS subtle?

I didn't really like McDiarmid's performance in ROTS, to be honest. The Emperor in RotJ was already a little bit over the top, but it fit and the character was terrifying in some really subtle ways too. I always felt like ROTS made the character too campy. He felt more like a cartoon character to me, and all the menace of the original portrayal was missing.

The film did the same thing with Grievous. Take a look at his original appearance:

    That's a villain.

Instead of that, in the actual film he just coughed, got cut up, crawled around like a spider, and then got shot in the face. I think Grievous might be the most disappointing thing about ROTS, given how much cooler he could have been.

I'm not saying the film wasn't enjoyable... but it could have been so much more.
