The Third Edition of the Starfighter Draft - 2004

Welcome everyone! It is that time again, time for the Starfighter Draft to begin anew! We've seen other Drafts come and die with the wind, but the Starfighter Draft lives on!!

There will be a few changes, this time around:

First of all, the first round of drafting will no longer be limited to Jedi alone; all pilots will available for drafting right from the get go.

A few other changes will be implamented once we get started. For the time being, let's get going with the sign-ups. Like last time, we will have 12 GM positions and 3 judges. Judges are required to devote enough time to their duties, and not run off and disappear for weeks at a time. Judges must also show a wide array of knowledge about all Starfighter Pilots. Main points of interest for knowledge are the Movies, X-Wing novels, and the NJO. As before, I would prefer judges who are experienced in the draft, but all are welcome.

As a warning, if anyone tries to infiltrate a sock into this competition and cheat to win, they will be kicked out of the Draft permenantley, and I will have a Mod issue proper punishment.

With that said, let's start the sign-ups: Gaeri, our past champion, and SuperVader, the runner-up, are awarded the first and second spots in the draft, the rest of the order will be generated randomly.

Hmmm such mixed emotions wondering whether or not to be judge... but I know I wont get as good a team as last time but it will still be damn good.


Oh GMing is a lot of fun (new word).

And i must defeat Gaeri once and for all.



Good idea on having the jedi and other pilots mixed together I was going to suggest that because some people just werent getting the good picks.

Hmmm, I believe that's my cue.

So I've got the top spot right now, and I don't have to pick a Jedi. Which would make me happy, because I hated having to choose between Luke and Corran last time, and I'd love to have Wedge on my squad. 'Cause he's the man.

However, nothing is ever that simple. Especially when I have the chance to mess it up. While these drafts are really fun, I think they've managed to give me gray hairs. I'm blonde, so I'm not sure, but it's a working theory. I've also already had a great run thus far, and think I should step back for awhile.

That, and I think JYA and SV still want a piece of my hide, and anything to disappoint them... just kidding.

I PMed Corran about this, telling him that I'd still like to be involved. He also talked about his interest in being a GM. Something about showing you all how it's done? Not sure... Anyways, I've decided to relinquish my number one spot to Corran this draft. The thought of Wedge is tempting, but this was something I had decided before the new rules were posted and I'm going to follow through. With his permission, I'm going to take over the Commissioner duties for this draft.

That is a very interesting twist Corran. Where is the support for this draft at?

 

With the new you-don't-have-to-pick-a-Jedi-first rule, can you pick a Jedi in any round? Do you have to pick a Jedi? Can you pick more than one Jedi?

 

Can we name our squads anything that is not.. rude .. or vulgar or anything?

 

You can name your squad whatever you want. I may choose to ignore it and call you the "Loser Squadron" or something if it's really bad, though.

And as stated earlier... seven more GM spots are still open, and one judging position.
