3 emergency surgeries in 2.5 days, including opening her up and re-doing the initial surgery, and a, thankfully, short coma... She's awake and lucid again. Here's hoping this is just the 1st step to a full recovery. Thank you all for the good thoughts
What an ordeal. So sorry to hear about your Sister's misfortune Zoo. sincerely hope for a full recovery as well.
My nephew should be having surgery on his arm this morning to fix a dislocated elbow. Probably not a big deal, but we're not sure whether he'd need to go under general anesthetic for it or not and he has a heart condition that makes anesthetic not a good idea. My sister was going to talk to the pediatric cardiologist this morning. Besides which, the poor kid is scared. So anyway, if you guys could think positive thoughts today, I'd appreciate it.
He's outof the hospital and doing ok. Turns out that the note in his file from the cardiologist was to make sure thy any doctors workig wig him were aware of his heart condition, but it was ok for him to get a general anesthetic. Once he was out, they had a bit more freedom to manipultae Gus arm and were able to get it back in the socket without surgery. At least thy think it is in. He has a full cast and will go back on thurs for xrays to check wverythig. But in the meantime he is out and was headed towards a nice bottle of vicodin.
I was hesitant to post about this until we know for sure, but my heart is heavy with it, and I want you all to keep my family in your thoughts. Many of you have met my stepdad Mark. He can be an irascible old fart, but he is the only real father figure I have had in my life. We noticed he was loosing weight a few months ago and pushed him to go and see his doctor. He hemmed and hawwed as salty dogs will, and then we started noticing him loosing muscle. He went to the doctor, and they did a CT scan and found lesions on his bones. He sees an oncologist this week...but it doesnt look good. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.
M, I'm so sorry to hear that. My thoughts are with you and your family. I hope the situation isn't too bad.
Thanks for all of your happy thoughts. The oncologist did a blood test for Pancreatic cancer, which is what typically causes bone lesions in that area of the body and it was negative. He believes at this time the lesions are non-malignant but will repeat both scan and bloodwork in one month. We remain hopeful.
We found out a few days ago that my stepdad has cancer. The doctor will have to remove a piece of his face and cheekbone. This morning my mom had a heart attack. Please pray for my family.
