Maybe youre getting haunted by the phantom (of the opera) :p

and SFL, a beam is normally bigger than 4x2, (100 x 50) which is regular framing timber.
Lintels (sometimes referred to as beams) across most 800-1m wide doorways are normally 4x4, (100 x 100) made up of two 100 x 50's. a 'beam' is the word used to describe a spanning member between two walls that supports a ceiling or roof, and can be made from timber or steel (which are called I-beams because of their profile shape. [face_mischief]

    so your answer would be:
'Fast spanning member between two walls that supports a ceiling or roof' :p

but thats not quite right either. :)

    who says this?

    " Ash nazg durbatulúk,
    ash nazg gimbatul,
    ash nazg thrakatulûk
    agh burzum-ishi krimpatul."

    and what does it mean?

    hmmmm

I believe its the Elvish words for the "flood".

Though I'm in two minds as to who says it.

Gandalf tells Frodo after he wakes that Elrond made the Flood and Gandalf made the "Horses" but Glorfindel was there and I dont think Elrond makes an appearance until AT Rivendell.

    I say Glorfindel.

    look at it carefully,
one word is repeated in each sentence, that word is the key to the puzzle!
