Absolutely not, but very limited release + VOD probably won't come any closer.

 

so the fabulous indie horror film The Babadook has been preempted by The Interview at the lone, single-screen art theatre in the phoenix metropolitan area where The Babadook was playing. its original engagement had been extended until the 30th and my friends and i were going to see it after christmas (the soonest we can get together to do so) in the theatre (a friend and i had previously viewed it online) but now we cant cuz as of today they've decided The Interview is replacing it on christmas day. **** sony and **** sony's stupid stoner comedy publicity stunt

Currently rocking a 9.8 out of 10 at IMDB. lol

 

It was 10 yesterday.

 

Yeah, they were calling them "protest 10s." A lot of people were just giving it ten ratings. It's down to 8.8 now. Dropping precipitously as real reviews come in, it seems.

 

So I'm watching this. It's got some funny jokes here and there, but it's a chore. Pretty standard fare for Rogen/Franco, I guess.

 

I know I wonder what the review will look like in a month.

 

I just got done watching it and it is terrible. It actually might be Rogen's worst.

Interestingly enough the movie wouldn't stream on my laptop and I got several error codes which weren't all the same. Maybe North Ko got in anyway? I had to watch it on my smart phone which made a bad movie all the worse

 

I loved it. My stomach hurt from laughing so much.

 

the movie got a 62 out of 100 for me decent but not the best.

 

That's a weirdly specific number.

 

My brother saw the movie last night. He had two reactions. First, he said the movie is almost unspeakably awful. Second, he's now more convinced than ever that, a few years from now, some Sony exec will reveal that the entire controversy was the most audacious hoax in entertainment history.

We were laughing at how some press agent came up with the idea, then got the Tony Mendez treatment: Sony management took him to a basement room, showed him his bonus check for coming up with such a great plan, then told him he can't keep it in order to maintain security.

 

It's playing at my Cineplex, but why bother when Wild and Top Five are also playing?
