One agency (that is ran by a religious organization) accepted 50 of them, then their executive director destroyed them "because Harry Potter is evil, and teaches children evil." She wouldn't even give them back to be redistributed to other children so that "other children wont be introduced to the evil of Harry Potter."

    That's very, very sad.

You know, they're right. Last night I waved a sitck at a feather and said, "Wingardium Leviosa!" and it turned into the Devil and he told me to do bad things. Bad, bad things.

On a related note, I have my wife's gall bladder sitting on my desk in a jar...

I did, cause I'm mental. Nothing gross on that page. But then I realized that Haz linked it....AND it's on a site called BodyTeen.com. Here is an excerpt of the menu listing on the left of the page:

    Anatomy

Sorry Dex, per forum rules we need to keep sex ed off the boards

WHAT IN THE WORLD were you looking up Haz?!?!?![face_shame_on_you]
Oh yeah before I wander away[face_mischief], I'm about to start reading "The Analects of Confucius", as translated by Lionel Giles.

Hard Merchandise K.W. Jeter. Its part of the bounty hunter books which are suprisingly good for SW books.

I'm looking for a new non-SW book to read, any suggestions?

I've been primarily reading historical fiction lately but am open to all genres.

I started reading this post and got confused, since I just replied to it at chiforce.org. :)

Once again, Terry Pratchett if you want to read a good book that just happens to have dragons and trolls and dwarves in it.

i just finished re-reading Wonder Boys by Michael Chabon and have decided it's one of my favorite books, so I'd recommend that.

Actually, I think every geek MUST read The Adventures of Kavalier and Klay by Michael Chabon. that is a GREAT book steeped in great comic book lore.

that new book about abraham lincoln looks pretty good too if you're into historical non-fiction. the author was on the daily show yakking about it and it seems cool.

When reading non-SW books, I like nonfiction. The most recent book I really enjoyed was The Truth Never Stands in the Way of a Good Story!, one of many books of in-depth analysis of urban legends by folklorist Jan Harold Brunvand (what a name!)

As of now, I'm reading Edge of Victory II for EV. Isn't everyone?

I'm rereading Order of The Phoenix and seeing if I can find clues for the next book which is presumably 2 years away :(.

I really think R.A.B. is Regulus Black.

"Tygers of wrath" by phillip rosenberg. pretty good so far. only on page 61. tells a day to day story of a teacher who is witness to a school shooting involving police and a student.

hubby is reading sw episode 3. he says it is sooo much better than the movie. and it does tell a deeper story about plagius and palpatine

I'm reading The World Before by Karen Traviss. Third in the series, but really great stuff if you're looking for non-Star Wars science fiction. (The first book in the series would be City of Pearl)
