Lit What things would you like to see in the EU that you would've liked to of seen more of in the LU?

A new Rogue Squadron, especially if the Empire survives ROTJ. The series needs to be brought into the new console generation.

Well I when I said that I was thinking about his name being canon.

 

His name was in the credits of all three films anyway.

The horror..... the horror. Things would be easier if I could audit with a lightsaber.

This! Dooku, of all the antagonists in the Prequel time period had the greatest potential for character depth. How great would it have been to see his disillusionment of the Jedi and the Republic, to get inside his head as everything he ever believed in crumbled around him? Qui-Gon's death, the massacre at Galidraan, the increasing degeneracy in the Republic he served for so many decades... Or to see him go down the path of darkness out of a true desire to make things in the galaxy better, to forge a new idealism in his fellow citizens and prune the corruption out of the Republic. Instead, what is 'canon' now is a cardboard cut out in TCW, where Dooku's role could have been switched out with nearly any other stereotypical, mustache-twirling villain.

So yeah- I'd love to see a Dooku novel.

Also, more Old Republic stuff would work well, I think. It would give authors and the Story Group more leeway to write the expansive space opera stories with less fear of pushing up against the movies.

If so, can you sell me FotJ's slave rebellions?

 

No, cut out the Lost Tribe. I just like the idea of the slaves finally rebelling, with Jedi help, and succeeding.

 

This is brilliant.
One of my biggest complaints about The Clone Wars was how it portrayed Dooku to be almost...too...dark side for his character, if that makes sense. In the end, I understand he became as corrupt as the Republic he initially spoke out against, but we never got to see this transition. Mister Luceno would portray this very well, I believe.

 

When you put it that way I can see the appeal

 

Sate Pestage, the Imperial Ruling Council, and Mas Amedda

 

A Palpatine novel by Luceno, he's only the entire reason there is a Star Wars story, everyone in the galaxy basically lost something even (jar-jar) Palpatine was the only one to gain everything he wanted. I don't buy the fact he just sat on his throne on Coruscant for his 20+ year reign. Something had to go south at some point that needed his personal attention, a Jedi threat, Mother Talzin, or something from his past on Naboo. Luceno I was the only author who got to run with his apprenticeship in Darth Plaguis, so let's let him continue into the dark times..
