Here we go again. For those of you that remember, I created several threads like this in the past and each of them had more than 1,500 posts. The three threads were...

What would get you so mad that you would walk out of Episode II?
What would get you so mad that you would walk out of Episode III?
What would get you so mad that you would walk out of Indy IV?

You may be humorous, witty, sarcastic, honest... but say something.

    So here we go...

What would get you so mad that you would walk out of Episode VII?

Ewoks!!! If I see one Ewok, I am leaving.

No (green) lightsaber for Luke Skywalker. If he doesn't uses it then I'll be very (censored censored) angry.

Honestly I'm so much hoping for the story to finally take us in an unprecedented direction, I don't think anything would make me walk out. I'm so hoping for finally something new, that I'll accept just about anything that they throw at us...

    [face_thinking]

Okay well, maybe I guess if...........nope. Nothing...

As long as it's well-done, I don't think there's anything that could definitively get me to walk out. For example, I'd probably be pissed if Luke turned to the Dark Side; but that wouldn't be a dealbreaker, there's a chance they could still make it work somehow.

If, on the other hand, the film doesn't work at all or is just plain horrible, then yes, that would be reason to walk out. But I think it's unfair to say you'd automatically ragequit because of a certain plot point alone, no matter how well that plot point actually works.

A large gaseous emission from a basement dweller who just consumed a large can of beans and decided to sit directly in front of me.

...just kidding. There are plot points and scenarios that would lead me to type out a really salty rant after a couple of drinks, but once I pay for the ticket I'm not walking out of the theater.

  12. if Luke dies at the hands of Rey or Kylo i leave this new trilogy and Star Wars

It wouldn't make me mad - but a fire in the theater would definitely get me to leave

During the Popeye movie in 1981, a kid defecated in his pants right next to me in the theater. I got so mad, I left (Well, I was mad, plus it was unpleasant to sit there with the smell).

I will do the same if that happens at the theater for TLJ.

Any scenario that I can come up with that would truly make me walk out of the theatre is honestly so over the top ridiculous that it would never realistically happen in the movie. Which speaks to my threshold of what I'd be willing to tolerate to actually walk out of the theatre. But that's a pretty drastic measure to take. Versus, say, still seeing the whole movie but then walking out completely miffed and annoyed at something. But I doubt that would happen either.

I would walk out if Luke dies at the start of the movie.

    Another shot at this topic....
The crimes the movie would have to commit for me to Reject it:
    - be boring. If it was in "Episode 8, Part 1" mode where it's all exposition and the fun action stuff was in the next movie. If I start making a shopping list in my head for after the movie... "I need milk, and toothpaste and..."

    - Be stupidly accidentally racist. Is that legal?

    - Throw away Luke and Leia. I know they've eventually gotta go, and Luke has to have an emotional Journey, but give them a bit of respect in their exits.

    - The new characters lose their souls. TFA's biggest success was making Rey, Poe, Finn, Kylo all be relatable humans. If they went 2 dimensional, that would be heart breaking.

I don't care who Reys parents are, or what particularly Luke is sad about, or who Snoke is. All that stuff will be whatever it will be and it'll be fun to find out. But I have no demands on it.

Just don't be boring, shallow, flat.

    Red Arms.
That's what you call all that technical plot stuff that is fun, but doesn't matter. It's all Red Arms. What mattered was Han and Leia seeing each other again.

Nothing! I paid for the ticket, so I'll jolly well stick around for the whole 2+hours of Star Wars that I paid for.

(Although cannon Reylo would leave me extremely miffed):p

Ahh! I was wondering! I figured perhaps it was an old Episode 7 thread. Kill it! Kill it with Fire!

Kill it with Starkiller Base Two!

I'd never *walk out* but I'd be pretty unhappy after the movie ended if:

    - Luke dies a Han-like death: While I'd much rather he survive 8, if the story requires his death, let it be an Obi-Wan-like death

    - The movie makes like Kylo is an OK swell guy by the end in an unconvincing, inadaquate way: Adam Driver is an awesome actor. (I'd never seen him in anything before TFA!) Please let's *see* the regret and the goodness and not just hear about it through exposition/audio commentary.

    - I hate the Rey's parentage reveal: I'm pretty sure I'll be unhappy with this, but I'd rather that be just because I didn't get my head-cannon-fantasy and not because it's nigh-objectively stupid.

    - Jar Jar: Unless he appears for 2 seconds as a disintegrating corpse before he's sliced in two :D (Nahh...I'm not QUITE that hateful...)

But really? I think I'll love TLJ :)
