Connery is the best, by far. But Brosnan didn't do too shabby either. A shame that the latest flick was such a stinker.

    Roger Moore by far, IMO.

No offense, but I think some people automatically immediately say "Sean Connery" w/o even thinking about it.

I gotta go with the majority and say Sean Connery. Pierce Brosnan is a pretty close second, and the others aren't too far behind.

Definitely Connery because he basically made the character. Brosnan did very well. Moore is more classic, but he just didn't seem to have the right look, and his sense of humor is different than Connery. Lazenby got shafted with the married and shot wife thing, so they ruined him before he had a chance. Dalton wasn't too bad, but not classic enough. And they didn't help him much because they made him too mortal.

I like Connery best. He's not THE best overall Bond acting-wise (but he's still decent), but he truly defined the James Bond role, and basically was a good Bond put into fairly good movies.

Lazenby is a good actor, but unfortunately, he wasn't meant for the Bond role, and almost single-handedly dulled the otherwise brilliant movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".

Roger Moore, the Englishman, was a very average Bond in most respects. His only real noteworthy achievement is that he was in more Bond films than any other actor, although I'm rather partial to his films Octopussy and The Spy Who Loved Me.

Timothy Dalton's a fine actor, too. Unlike Lazenby, Dalton was a good Bond was put into rather bland films. I guess it goes to show that one person can't make a film, but certainly can break it.

Pierce Brosnan (my second fave) is somewhat like Dalton. He's a fine Bond that was put into crappy films, save GoldenEye. Tomorrow Never Dies was a bust, and The World Is Not Enough was only a hair better than TND. I hope that Bond 20 will be the best one yet, at least for Brosnan.

Lazenby. Oh, hold on. Brosnan. Although Connery got the better lines.

The World is Not Enough was the sweetest 007 movie ever. Coming a very close second is Goldeneye, then the Living Daylights and Moonraker (gotta love kicking a@@ in Afghanistan and filling Drax's men and chicks with laser bolts, not to mention a fight to the death on a space weapon control antennae's cradle :D)

Hands down it would be Sean Connery. He is what the others use as a goal. He established cool and shaken not stirred. I'd follow that with Pierce Brosnan.

Goldeneye, and World is Not Enough are the two worst Bond films. I think that Brosnan had tremendous potential, but he had terrible scripts. COnnery is and always will be the man.

I liked Goldeneye, but haven't cared for the last two.

I really liked Dalton, though I think License to Kill is one of the worst Bond films. But I really liked him in the part, and wish he'd done more.
