    Leia is like Maz , in tune with the force but not an active user. heck even in the legends EU they only made her a knight by the time of dark nest.

    It just seems like while she was young enough to become a Jedi (which theoretically she was too old all along, but Luke was also pretty old) she was too busy helping shape the new Republic politics.
