Seeing as how I can't stand anything to do with X-Men, I voted for "Be a surprise if it's any good"

I tend to like superhero action flicks so I voted that the X-men would fight the Muppets....

Unless Ratner has left the project, I only count one director leaving X-Men 3 (Michael Vaughn - only because he didn't want to move his family to the states for a year)?

4 Home alone movies last time i counted, though has anyone ever seen the 4th?

When i first saw this thread, i thought to myself, oh dear that cant be good, so the first question i would like to ask the audience is:

Were the first 2 films directed by the same person?

Bryan Singer directed the first two. He opted out of the 3rd one before development began to helm Superman Returns. Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake) was then the director, but a few weeks before shooting began he pulled out, aparantly he didn't want to move his family. They fan favourite (sarcasm) Brett Ratner (Rush Hour flicks) jumped into the role, at which he was desperate to get at when they were making the first.

I wouldn't exactly say X3 has chewed thru two. More like 1. Bryan Singer proberly left the project before it was a definite.

From what Ive read on the net, the script is extremly mediorce, but half the time, the reviewers are either angry nerds or doctors on the X-men, so take that as it lies. I LOVE the casting of Kelsey Grammer as Beast (:_| Frasier is over :_| ), but no Gambit, and way to many 2nd and 3rd tier mutants are being thrown into this flick - which worries me that Ratner is throwing in all these mutants for the fans instead of producing a solid, awesome sequel to , well, an awesome sequel! Ill be very interested to see how it lies after the brilliance that was X2

Will it be Jean's return or would that be held over to a (possible) 4th movie?

it won't be as good as X2. I've said from the start, placing Cyclops as a minor character was the worst thing they could have done, and by all accounts his role is even smaller for X3. Beast may make up for that, but no Nightcrawler either is a big loss. And still no Gambit, doesn't help from my point of view either.

Oh, and that Stormy actress is still there too.

Well I've heard Brett Ratner who directed Red Dragon (sounds better then Rush Hour 1 and 2) was leaving as well!

It may be wrong, but it got me very worried!

Yeah, I agree. I have the distinct feeling that Superman Returns will just be "one of those films".

I'm looking forward to people who have only seen "Smallville" complain that the story doesn't fit.

I hate "Smallville" It's just Dawson's Creek with a quasi superhero coating.
