Okay, the next classic Star Wars book we will be discussing is X-Wing: Rogue Squadron by Michael Stackpole!
We have the meeting room booked for March 1 at 2 pm at the Himmel Park Library.

If you haven't been coming to book club, we still want you, and this is a great book to start off with!!!

Hmmmmm. I've never read any of the Rogue Squadron books but I'd love to attend the meeting. Could you PM me as to the directions to Himmel Park Library? I'll be sure and keep that Saturday clear.

I'm sure you'll like the X-Wing books, Vangarian. I hope you can join us!

The directions to Himmel Park Library (in case anyone else needs them, too):
The library is in the northeast corner of Himmel Park, which is one block south of the intersection of Tucson Blvd and Speedway (on the east side). So, go south on Tucson Blvd for one block past Speedway, then make a left onto 1st St., then go straight 3 blocks until you see the library on your right.

    Bump.
This is happening on Saturday people,
and in typical me fashion, I haven't even started the book yet!

Does bumping the thread mean Zedd will actually make an appearance at this discussion??

I enjoyed reading this book again. It is rare for me to like something without Luke. :p Having read the series previously, the foreshadowing is easy to find. There were a few more space battles than I like, but I managed to get through them.

The next discussion is going to be on April 5, 2 pm, at the Himmel Park Library again.
I believe we decided to read the next book in the X-Wing series, Wedge's Gamble. If I recall correctly, this is the book where the overarching plot really picks up!

I've only read the first four books (back in high school), but you say the other ones are worth reading, too? ...I may have to read them...

The entire X WING series is worth a read if you're a SW fan. While the original 4 books are the best written, the others are worth reading as well.

Last minute update: Today's discussion (Wedge's Gamble!) is being moved to cathiecat's house!! It's still at 2 pm.

Since both of you, Kieran and Jada, are giving the rest of the X-Wing series a good review, they are now on my not-so-short list of books to read :)

    Cool :)

Well, since we (meaning Cat, Rebel Mom, and I...sorry Zedd) are enjoying the X-Wing series so much, we decided to keep on going! Next book up: The Krytos Trap. The only time we could think of to fit the discussion in is on May 3 (Saturday) after the Obi-Kat ice cream social :)
Maybe we'll snare a few new people into joining book club???? :D
