Sounds like a sock to me ;) , but despite the obvious bias, I too would like to see the brand-spankin' new Y-wings as well. :)

I always liked the Y-Wings. Not just because of the design, but also the pilots :

    - The "Stay on target!" routine

    and

    - Gold Leader's wonderfully staccato way of speaking. "Switch to...TARgeting computer!" "Switch all power to FRONT...deflector shields!" Very Shatner-esque.

SO! YOU! FINALLY! FIGURED! OUT! HOW! TO! PUNCTUATE! KIRK'S! SENTENCES! EH?! :p

To "stay on target," I must say that I prefer the TIE bomber. Imperial ships are my favorites. :D

I think I'd take a Y-wing over the TIE Bomber.

However, if it was a TIE Fighter or TIE Interceptor that was up for grabs, I'd go for one of them. A definite for the TIE Interceptor; that thing is mondo kickass!

I would take the Y-wing. There's no way I would choose a ship with no shields, like the TIE bomber.

I would pick an X-wing, but since that is not a choice, Y-wing. I also like the idea of shields.

Also, If I'm not mistaken, Y-wings have droids, like the X-wing. It could keep me company on those boring patrols I know I'd be sent on occasionally.

ya know if Luke was in a Y-wing in the Death Star trench run, would it be more popular than an x-wing? thats probably just the case with the x-wings popularity...or not, i dont know

Honestly Tie Bombers are way more cooler. :cool:Their faster than the lumbering Y-Wings and I always intently watched the part in ESB where their dropping those green bombs. We never see Y-Wings even unleash their payloads. :(

Y-Wings. TIE Bombers are suicide machines.

My starfighter of choice would have to be an X-wing, but I'll take the Y-wing over the TIE Bomber any day. I want some shields between me and the enemy.

But then again, if I had to go into space combat, I'd probably choose a capital ship. Mon Calamari cruiser, for preferance, with all those redundant shield generators.

    It's not that I'm a total wimp, it's just that I'm a very defensive-oriented tactician.

But you trade speed for heartiness.

In X-wing, the bombers are pretty quick, but the lasers on the Y-wing are ACCURATE!

In space combat, maneuverability is worth as much as shielding power, if not more so.

But it's harder to hit something when you can't take time to aim.

Not knocking your choice, just exploring the contrasts.

I'd take TIE bombers because of the speed, and if we were actually in the GFFA, I'd be loyal to the Empire.
