Because Anakin is THE main character.

 

Why does it matter whom the maker of the little images is a fan of? The 'main character' may well vary person to person as not everyone has the same standards they determine by. Just because Lucas presses Anakin's it, doesn't make it a given for everyone. I think Luke is, personally.

 

Luke is just as important in the OT as Anakin was in the PT

 

1-3: The Tragedy of Darth Vader
4-6: The Adventures of Luke Skywalker
7-9: ????????????

 

But Anakin is still in 4-6 though. For the OT on its own, yes I agree Luke is the main character, but for the saga as a whole, it's Anakin. Depends on how you're viewing it. Should be interesting to see whose story 7-9 will be and how it's affected by Anakin's story. I think when it's all said and done you could have a 9-part "Legacy of Anakin Skywalker" motif running through those movies, or something along those lines.

 

Let's clear up something about the status of the Prequels:

When Disney bought Lucasfilm three years ago, half the price was paid in cash and the other half in over $2 billion worth of Disney stock. This makes George Lucas the second biggest shareholder in Disney (the Bill Gates Foundation owns more) and the largest amount held by a single person. So the very notion that a company Lucas owns a large chunk of is going to throw a third of his life's work in a dumpster is absurd.

Because Anakin's visual changes drastically during the saga.

Luke does not grow up in OT. In PT, we see a kid anakin, a 19 yo and a evil long haired anakin. The one thing changes in Luke is his costumes (as you said)

And I agree with you, THERE SHOULD BE A carbonite Solo.

 

Luke does grow from Jedi padawan to Jedi Knight.

 

I am talking about PHYSICAL CHANGES, not psychological or spiritual...

 

Hayden is in talks to appear in episode 8. Besides whoever got the blasted silly idea that the PT isn't Canon? That is pure rubbish. Conspiracy theorists relax....

hayden as a ghost was added in 2004 not 1997. that doesn't even make sense.

 

There's a rumor going around that he'll be in it. That doesn't mean he's in talks, and that doesn't mean it's something that's actually happening.

 

Given that Rian Johnson has openly stated his like of the PT (unlike JJ who seems to not care one way or another) it wouldn't surprise me, honestly

I see it like this . . . Anakin was important in both the PT and the OT. Luke was important in the OT and might be in the ST.
