ST Lightsaber colours in the ST

Personally, I could not disagree more. It's fine that that's your opinion, but I want Luke's Jedi to be, if not flourishing, to have at least 50-60 members. Not the thousands of the PT, but certainly not 3-5 (and I'm assuming that'd count Luke).

 

I think they should show more colors. Red, green and blue are starting to get boring. Yellow, purple and orange would be nice. Pick colored lightsabers would be different, too. Bottom line is, what ever common color that's out there should be used.

But if I were to pick just one, then I would choose yellow.

Heh...for some reason, I always pictured Yoda having a yellow bladed lightsaber.

Hmm, maybe that could work, if the film takes place at a point in time further enough. If it was justified by the plot like that (luke really does need to restart the Academy). But that still doesn't mean dozens of sabers at once, i see luke teaching things with different priorities. And even if lightsaber skills are up at the top of the curriculum, I'd much rather see a one on one training duel than a bunch of kids learning choreographed moves. Perhaps it'll be in episode 8 when all of Luke's students will be good enough to rise to whatever challenge faces the galaxy, and THEN we can see huge saber melees.

Yellow lightsabers are my favorite... I always use those in the video games where you can choose your color.

 

Yellow and different shades of blue and green seem like a nice progression from the whole two colors thing anyway. For that matter, yellow could also work for Sith.

 

This thread is a great way to see who's from Europe/Canada and who's from the US.

 

Blue, Green and Red will probably remain the most commonly used colors of the Jedi and Sith respectively. Other colors such as Purple, Yellow, Orange etc may also be used as well (albeit sparingly). Then again, Mr Abrams may surprise us.

Will we see more? I think we should. It's one thing if they had kept it blue for good guys and red for bad guys, but once Green and Purple came into the mix I say all bets are off. I'm not saying we need Pink and Neon Magenta or anything, but some more "basic" colors would be nice.

 

Orange, yellow, black, white and others are needed only if they look good.

 

If we get more colors, wonder if they'll give them meaning like some fans have already...


I'd like Purple, Yellow, Orange, Silver, and White personally. Though not sure Id like them all at once, special meanings for each color would allow a stagnated release of colors.

I could see them giving the hero or another character, the Mace Windu of the Trilogy his or her own unique color and or weapon

 

I'd be honestly quite surprised if they stuck with Blue/Green for the Jedi. I fully expect to see purple and yellow lightsabers.

New Jedi Order, new colors please!

 

I want to see a lightsaber that starts out as one colour, but changes shade every time it's turned on. Slightly enough that it will take a while for the Jedi to notice it and just as it starts to drive the jedi crazy it turns back to the normal colour.

Or maybe a semi-sentient one that has it out for it's wielder and will spontaneously change to red in front of other jedi.

 

Back in Black, baby.

 

I'd prefer just red, blue, green and maybe purple. Anything else is just going overboard IMO, no need to have every color in the rainbow.
