Well... being as we seem to have been caught by the post-Xmas slump, where we're all depressed and so forth. *walks to his throne, turns, and, dramatically, sits, cowling his hood and causing his eyes to burn golden as he basks in the dark side* I propose a a solution to our woes. A one time extension to the term that is in effect, in light of the 'emergency' nature of our time. Three months, in which the Chancellor must step down, and may not run again. *raises a skeletal hand to forestall a comment* We are in January, after all. It's only natural that we have grown a little quiet. Work sucks, Xmas is gone, we're all busy catching up with that thing we didn't do before the holidays. *flicks his wrist, and his robes change colour, becoming a shining, all but burning brilliant white. He drops his hood, and smiles, softly* I speak reason, and with the caveats I have personally suggested on my power, I believe it is only prudent - nay, it is the responsible decision to make. A Senate which has failed to elect anyone by apathy is far worse than one which has taken action to avoid. That, and the term would end on the 1st April. How much fun can we have with that?
